I’ve always been intensely connected to nature and looked forward to the day I would experience the magical energy of wild animals, rich “Rainbow Nation” African culture, and to gain a deeper understanding of my namesake (minus one “n”). What I didn’t anticipate was the comforting feeling of being home.

When recounting my travels with a friend (who I met on previous travels), she described my life experiences, interactions, and relationships as “kismet”.

No word better describes this opportunity.

Once again, yoga brought me to a beautiful part of the world, but this time as a photographer. My two passions coming together to bring me to my namesake? Nothing has been more kismet.

I will forever have gratitude to a friend for vouching for my eye and heart, and for the opportunity to capture the raw emotions, experiences, and memories of 20 yogis.

As for my next life, I hope to have the job of my game rangers (I preferred the term “nature encyclopedias”), Troy and Dylan.

I could go on and on about my life changing, emotional experience of being so intimate with nature, the animals, and the people.

I will cherish these photos as a reminder of one of the most beautiful times of my life.

Since I was a little girl, I dreamed of going to the Savannah.
